I tested this a while back and it worked okay.
I went from my Kona3 System HD 1080i seq, downconverted to SD SDI out to a MBP w/ the IoHD. Opened up Quicktime Player>File> New Movie Recording, open up prefs set the IoHD as the source, then choose H.264 as the recording mode. (I think you need to set the record prefs before you open the New Movie Recording)
This will record a realtime H.264 movie. Don’t have many options but it is there.

But my thinking is you are going to create more work and take more time for the people you are trying to off load the work from.
If your only concern is to take the encoding and authoring away from the FCP systems then the quickest thing to do is for them to export Self Contained movies of the timelines. Take those movies to the PC, encode and author away.

If you go with the cheapest you will probably reduce success also. But even the top brands are not that much more expensive if you are buying on spindles.
I myself only buy Maxell Plus series they are $.40/disc. I these are also 8x so there force DVDSP to write slower which is what I want.

But I also author disc to be more compatible, bitrate never goes over 7Mbps for video and audio is always ac3 are the most important things stay with.

Lemon Law is that a single car has a problem that cannot be fixed after 3 tries. Not that a car has a problem.
You are acting like a baby, grow up this is part of the business, it sucks but you have to roll with the punches. Which means there are times you don’t make as much money on a job because you have to rent a camera to use because your camera is in the shop, so you end up taking a double hit. This double sucks but you move on.
BTW, these cameras are road warriors as a whole, I know of too many of them that are on tour with rock bands. This is not to say that they don’t go down but it attest to the fact that as a whole they are very well made and durable.

What was your shooting mode when you recorded to the Firestore?
How was the Firestore setup?

It is to be stayed away from like the plague if you intend any distribution of these disc to a general audience or people that are using Windows.
DVD@ccess is totally unpredictable on WIndows.

Unless you need to do more editing before authoring, I have no idea why you would want to do this. If your video is complete in FCP just export a movie Self Contained, to a drive that can be read on the PC where you can encode and author with Encore.

Do a search on the forum for DVD@ccess and you will find the recommendation is to NOT use this feature.
If you feel you want to use this feature take a look at page 596 in the manual.
Common fix is to make sure DVD@ccess is enabled in DVDSP’s preferences.
