This is a enter at your own risk. Meaning if you get it to work fine, but it is doesn’t there is no support or solution other than to do as the spec recommends. Which is pretty cheap to do. You will always need to render footage that is anything other then gray on the timeline for Print (or Edit) to Tape.
BTW, the 17″ MBP still have Express34 card slots.

P2 are far more versital, if you are handholding the FIrestore the format has some real short comings. Power for one, the 3 hour rated battery last for about 90 minutes, the standard battery about 45 minutes. so it is another thing to have extra batteries for and the cable is less than idea for a camera on a go. If the 32 GB cards work go with them.

The Kona Cards do not offer standards conversion.

I have never been comfortable with the idea of a blind copy. When things are fast, I copy the files from a P2 to Computer/HD and always at least open them up in a viewer before erasing the card.
I like the Dual Adapter, fast and a good price but I also recommend have a spare on hand so I totally know what Noah is talking about. Also wish that they would be redesigned.

Have you reinstalled compressor? If you do make sure you follow the apple article that was linked to by John Fishback.

So the computer is boot up with the install CD? Have you tried to install the OS on an External HD and see if it boots.

This will distort the pitch of the sound. You can normally get again with +-10% with audio software that retains pitch but much more than that your are going to set that slow, deep voice. But STP can do it.

I thought you were talking about doing a DVD5, why did you have 2 layer folders as posted above, I wanted to make sure you didn’t accidentally click on the dual layer button in the disc inspector.

Is your project a DVD-9 or a DVD-5? What does your Meter within DVDSP say?

Try movie the original video track out of VTS 1 into a new VTS, leaving that black track as the only thing in VTS 1.
What is you First Play on the disc?
