That in one thing that is burned into my head, spent one extremely frustrated day years ago, yelling at my computer.

Do a short test. Set a 10 minute in and out on the area of the most movement/action. Good to get dark and light scenes.
WIth your final video in your HDV timeline in FCP, Export Using Compressor. Then in Compressor change a m2v preset to One pass CBR and the bitrate to 6.5 Mbps. Make sure the field dominance is set to UPPER! Frame Control can be off.
This will tie up FCP and Compressor for the entire encode but this will give you the best quality with the tools that you have. The CBR will speed things up and will give you a better result, I’m basing the bitrate on 90 minutes of video. Audio will need to be encoded as ac3 in compressor as well.

you may have corruption, files, preference or even the app.
Try another m2v file (make sure the file is not a transport or program stream, audio and video in the same file, if it is that is your problem, dvds need elementary streams, just the video)
If that file works, it is the first file that is the problem, if it still doesn’t work, trash pref, if that doesn’t help re-install DVDSP.

If you are manually assigning button navigation make sure the Auto Assign Button Continuously not turn off (unchecked) this is done in the Settings drop down menu upper right of the viewer screen.
Try that and it should fit it. But remember that DVDSP will no longer assign these navigations so if you build a menu after you turn it off there is no navigation but you can select NOW is the same place as above and it will do the auto assign once for that menu.

One place 2 cards are better is if you are shoot long interviews or a long continuous shoot and have a P2 wrangler, that can offload the one card while you are shooting to the other. No right or wrong answer just which works best for your shooting situations.

Just to be clear. The cards can handle (2) monitors on each card with an adapter, even (2) 30″ but that is a different adapter. What you cannot do is use (2) of the new 24″ Apple monitors but you CAN use any (2) DVI monitors. So if you go with (2) Dells you do not need another card.

Two things I have learned about good audio people.
1) Good ones are worth their weight in gold.
2) NEVER ask any of them what Mic they would recommend.Hire and rent until you are comfort to get the job done right yourself.

(2) monitors, (1) card and (1) adapter, make sure you get the right adapter for the monitor you get.

Did you shoot 24p or 24pA, if you want to edit 23.98 you should be shooting 24pA.
If you shoot 24p and capture with the 24pA setting it is removing the wrong fields.
24p is 2:3:2:3, 24pA is 2:3:3:2.If you shot 24p, and have captured 60i, try a small clip in compressor with Frames turned on, Deinterlace>Reverse Pulldown.

There should be no MEDIA folder on the final disc.
Only Video TS (this this all the DVD needs) Audio TS (empty)
if you add DVD-ROM material this would be included.If you are encoding within DVDSP it makes other folders/files of the assets but that does not go on the final disc.
