The cameras do not put TC on the clips. One of the things that the Canon plug-in for FCP7 did was to take the time of day and generate TC from that.
Grinder also adds TC but that starts everything clip at 0.

I think AJA OEM’s the board for AVID now, it would be better for the end user to be able to have one card for most NLE apps.

People still need I/O devices, so they should still have the same demand, the difference is what app is using their card.

All SD is interlaced to tape. If the camera is set on 24p, the camera takes those 24 progressive frames and adds pulldown to make them 60 fields going to tape or p2 cards. If you wanted true 24p to edit with you should have shot as 24pA and then removed the ADVANCED pull down on ingest. You can still remove the standard pull down by running the clips with compressor, turn on Frame Control and chose Reverse Telecine for deinterlace.

These cameras probably have Firewire and there are DVD-Recorders that have FW in. I have one but it is years old, sure there are new models. The cameras will have to be on SD for this to work. It would give better quality over RCA.

There is no such thing as “Idiot/dummy” proof. People can get around anythings you put in their way in order to stop their stupidity.
This is not a DVD problem but how windows works. VLC and windows media player are version similar in the fact that they are not TRUE DVD software but get around it. VLC does a much better job. This is not knocking WMPlayer, but unless they client has it set up properly they in nothing you can add to your disc.

60i will give you smoother motion then say 24p.
If you want specific settings you should post in the camera forum. You should also be testing the complete workflow if you are not 100% sure of the results if this is a paying gig. Advice is good but it is your butt on the line, always test first.

You have to resize the images in Photoshop, all DVDs are 720×480 non-square pixel. To convert you need to make it 853×720 and down sample the resolution to 72 p/inch. The image will look correct at this point.
Then unselect “Constrain Proportions” and make the image 720×480 (For NTSC) resolution still at 72.
This will help greatly with image quality.

Just read the specs on apple’s site yesterday, if you want to use 3 monitors you cannot use an adapter on either of the mini-ports.
