I guess I’m assuming I’m clearer then I was. I’m talking about 60 unique frames going into 60 fields. And not 60 with a pull down added.

Edit at 59. if that is what the footage was shot at. Going from 60p to 60i is super smooth. You are really not changing the frame rate.
Each of the 60p frames gets converted into one of the interlaced fields. Since both are timed the same the footage is actually interlaced, just as if you shot it that way.

Yes that is true and this is the best way to do this. I have done this a bunch of times with either the AJA Kona3 and IoHD. It also handles the letterboxing also.This will give you the highest quality downconvert. Going from 60p to 60i is super clean also.

None, DVD spec does not allow for that. You can set up auto-activate that will work on a DVD player with the remote control but with a computer and the mouse you will have to click to get a highlight to be active, no way around this.

FCP should never be moved from one computer to another. It doesn’t matter if it worked for a while, everyone is going to tell you to reinstall. You need to do a full install. ALso you must have FCP 5.1 for work on an Intel Mac.

Before you start looking at equipment you need to give precise information.
List the clips info, Codec, resolution, frame-rate and so on. List the complete info an the Juice file as well as the sequence.For the sequence what is the Compression set to. Do a Screen capture of the sequence settings for ease.
Are the clips is a multicam angles or do you have clips on 6 video tracks? How many tracks are viewable at the same time.

What are the field order settings for graphic, movies and sequence. DV is a horrible codec on computer playback. To judge quality you must be going to an external TV monitor.

How do we know that? Why not list all the clip/codec settings and all the FCP sequence settings.

So you are just using Cinema Desktop in FCP so the HDTV monitor is just being feed the computer DVI signal? -

Delete prefs, if that doesn’t work a complete reinstall of Compressor and QMaster.
