Todd, thank you! I did a search before I posted but I must not have set the date range back far enough.
I will email cycore now and see if I can get a better version of the plug-in.
As an aside, I thought this was the kind of thing the Creative Cloud membership was supposed to address. Hey Adobe, how about a point release of AE?

Thank you. That reassures me that I don’t need to reinstall AE or something like that.
So I’m doing that method now – do you happen to know if I can copy both the mask and the new Position coordinates so that I can paste them to other layers in my comp in one step instead of two?
Thanks, Mike

Great answer and solved the same problem for me. Nothing else would. Thank you!

March 5, 2012 at 10:55 pm in reply to: Pluraleyes for Avid MC 6.0 – problem with two different frame ratesEventually I figured out a workaround which still required a fair amount of manual labor:
I exported the “good” 29.97 audio as AIF and imported it back in again, lined it up with its video. After grouping that audio with the video to make a single clip, I ran Pluraleyes again.
This time the syncing worked, although there were a couple of areas where the video came apart from its audio. Luckily I was just able to use Avid’s sync indicator to slide clips back into line with each other.
I’d still be interested – and I’m sure others would too – if there is a more straightforward way around the problem.
Thanks.

December 21, 2011 at 10:02 pm in reply to: 1080sf23.98 on KONA LHi in FCP7 & Avid MC6Sure wish I had read this thread before I went out and bought a new monitor. I thought the reason I wasn’t seeing Avid’s “1080p23.98” via my Kona LHi HDMI out was that my old ca. 2005 monitor didn’t support 1080p. Just set the new one up and got the behavior as described above.
I will try to use my SDI – DVI/HDMI converter and see if I have better results. (Because it IS a nice new monitor and I don’t want to have to pack it up.) Thanks for this thread.

Your sequence settings are fine except you definitely don’t want to change it to PNG – just go back to the Easy Setup you were using before and change your codec back to the normal one.
I did notice that the PNG file itself is incredibly small at 10.9K. You may need to export them at higher resolution from the program that generates them. I use PNG files all the time for titles – they’re great because the alpha channel info is built in – and I don’t have any problems with them.
Sorry I don’t have a definite answer – by the way, have you tried viewing your sequence on a PAL monitor (as opposed to your computer screen)? Many times graphics (especially in a DV sequence) look terrible in the FCP canvas but they are fine when output as video.

Thank you very much!
I had never used Cinema Tools before, but muddled my way through a batch conform on the clips and it fixed most of them. The very last clip in the folder, for some reason, it slowed down the audio as well as the video. But the rest are now at 29.97 and seem to be working.
Thanks so much for your help.
