  • Sarah,

I have the same setup as you (sending video out of the Kona LHe to HDLink and to a CRT simultaneously) and have not had a problem.

I don’t have an HD CRT so I set the Kona control panel to send SD out component to my (Sony) monitor and it looks fantastic, rock solid.

I did have an issue using SD with the HDLink but I don’t think the HDLink is your problem… I have to agree with Bob, it sounds like the JVC monitor is the issue. Sometimes these things happen simultaneously but are unrelated.

I think using Bob’s method of narrowing down the possibilities will give you the answers you are looking for.

  • I installed this card into a dual 2.7 G5 in October. I use it with a Kona LH. I’ve had no problems with it but I don’t think I ever sleep my computer. What are the advantages of sleeping it over just turning it off? Mine boots up in under 30 seconds.

    Luke,

Thanks for the reply. I don’t think luck is working with us in this case, however, as I checked and rechecked my settings in HDLink’s utility before giving up. It was indeed set to DVI, and I tried all the alternative SD choices (I had been using 2x blowup w/ anamorphic for this project).

My current plan is to use the component inputs of the Dell HDTV for SD and the HDLink/HDMI input for HD. It’s too bad as I enjoyed being able to switch back and forth virtually automatically before.

BTW – tech support asked for my phone # in an email but has not contacted me yet. I’m assuming that will happen soon as I need to get this issue resolved ASAP.

    Thanks Luke.

I’m trying to use a wiggle expression on the Position property but I only want to wiggle the horizontal. I can’t figure out how to limit it to the x axis. Is there any way to do this without the Wiggler? I’m on 5.5 w/o PBundle.

    thanks – Mike

  • Thanks for such a gentle and constructive response. You’ve given lurkers like me some terrific ways to clarify our thinking as we start our trips to “Phoenix.”

I’m about 3/4 of the way through the 1st Meyers’ book, working slowly and carefully through it, and have just finished my first genuine project (a new animation for my company logo). I think the final result would have been better if I had forced myself to write down my goals as you suggest. I would have been less likely to bail out and just do what I found easy.

    Thanks again – great post.
