In progressive world, there are no such things as fields so those won’t make any difference. Your basic choices will be blended (frame based by default). The other choice is FLuidMotion but there are only presets for a couple of different speeds in Avid Xpress Pro.

Are you digitzing over analog or FireWire? HD Downconverts create NORMAL pulldown (2:3:2:3) at DV resolutions. which is not supported over FireWire in v.4.6 and v.5.0. This capability was introduced in v.5.1.
Try analog with RS-422 at 28:1.

All recent versions of FilmScribe are full functioning stand alone applications with no need for dongle. This allows for collaborative use of metadata on or off the main editing system.
As with EDL Manager, just copy the installer. This is true for both OSX and XP versions of the application.

I tend to use:
CTRL-M for lassoing a section of the timeline I want.
The CTRL / for getting it back to its entirety.Then as needed I use CTRL [ and CTRL ] to scale as needed (in and out).

Make a new sequence load it on the record side.
Load each of the orignal seqeunce(s) into the source side, marke IN and OUT at the beginiing and end. Edit into new sequence.If you want DVD, then it has to be an MPEG2 file. Depending on length of program you will set up the parameters in your MPEG2 encoder accordingly.

Are you consolidating clips at 15:1s will or if it’s only the sequence that will not consolidate?
What HD resolution are you working at, 145, 220?
Try removing effects or titles that could be causing the error–just for troubleshooting purposes.
What is the profile of the sequence> Are there titles, graphics, lots of imported stuff, any type of video or audio plugins?
Try to consolidating the audio only and/or the video…to help narrow it down…
Can you consolidate to local drives?

Aha!. Now that you bring it up, I now remember this feature was added a couple of versions ago. This allows Xppro Users to not be caught without the ability to do somethig with the media. Thanks for reminding me!

Go to any Media Composer Meridian or Adrenaline and save out the composer settings with 2 rows of buttons.. transfer those settings to Xpress Pro and open them – make it the active setting and voil

Unfortunately these tend to end up using EDL’s, one for each layer. What is lost is anything not supported by an EDL. smoke claims to support AAF as they are part of the AAF Association and they showed an XML workflow from FCP. Reports seem to be that neither one work very well. The best thing for you to do is to take a sample project from both FCP and Avid and see which works best. Try XML, AAF, OMF, and EDL’s…
