Does anyone know if its possible to load up and use Filmscribe in non-Avid Macs? Not wanting to break any laws here but I’m curious. EDL manager does work when copied from an Avid Mac (ver 11 under OS9) to a non-Avid Mac (running OSX). But Filmscribe installs fine but works in “view-only mode”

Has anyone succeded in doing this ?

All recent versions of FilmScribe are full functioning stand alone applications with no need for dongle. This allows for collaborative use of metadata on or off the main editing system.

As with EDL Manager, just copy the installer. This is true for both OSX and XP versions of the application.

Actually I downloaded the Filmscribe installer from the Avid web site and after installing it on a MacOSX system, it insisted on being “view only”. I think it is FilmScribe version 11
