In your sync map timeline loaded in the record side, mark IN-OUT for each continuous video segment. In -Out should not have any edits in it, just a single event. Option-drag to bin where it will make a sequence the duration of the in-out.
Do this for every event. Highlight all sequences from this process and select AutoSync. This turns into a subclip which has the same behavior as an AutoSync clip to start with. Rename clips as needed. You can further group these or use as is. Sync break indicator will also work.

The previously noted process is how you delete them, but I find it very strange from a design process that the Color Settings window that lets you manage LUTs didn’t include a Delete function.

OK – so FrameFlex by default will scale to fit project type (1080) that you can now use to punch in a reframe as needed up 1920×1080 of the original 4K (4x). Are you not seeing that?

Are you importing or linking when working with the 4K footage in the 1080 project?

A LongGOP format such as H.264 will always be less space than the same file in an I frame format like DNxHD or ProRes – it’s the nature of the encoding formats. You can google a bunch of info on that if interested.
for 1 hour of footage @ 1080p/23.976, DNxHD storage rates are:
DNxHD 36 (offline proxy): 15 GB
DNxHD 115: 49 GB
DNxHD 175/x: 74 GBMichael

You can use either Apple Compressor or Adobe Media Encoder.

I’ll have to try some tests, but there may be a limitation lining to .sync clips? Or as you say, subclips in general. It may be that relinking to selected is to master clips only which in your case of double system audio would be two passes; 1 for picture, 1 for sound.

Should be the pretty close to the same workflow – export a QT reference, QT Same as Source, or MXFOP1a and open in Compressor with your desired output settings and export. I use Adobe Media Encoder rather than Squeeze since I already have that and the process would be similar.
