I don’t know what the plans are, but they now have the resources to do so – and if history tells us anything, Resolve in on three OS’s… 🙂

I have found this to be hit and miss with certain metadata fields and reported it as part of the beta cycle. I will test this again to see if there has been any improvement in 8/8/1.

What EDL type did you export from Apple Color (did not know it exported EDLs), CMX? If so, which flavor of CMX? Does it have a .edl extension?

It’s not obvious that this feature exists – it is a careful cross section of column and highlighted clips. As you move the mouse under the column you want to add info to, the cursor changes. At that point you right-click, and in that long menu, somewhere between a third and halfway down there is a menu selection that includes the name of the column into which you right-clicked. Select it, and the box appears. I’ll try to make a screen capture movie when I get to my system and post it.

Is is using the new ProRes 4K codec that was announced a few months back? I don’t have any sample media from that camera to check, so I can’t verify what you are seeing. If you could send a small sample file to me at michael[at]24p[dot]com I will take a look. You can use a free service lik WeTransfer.com to send.

Using the same version of RCX on OS X, and a single 6K file from RED dragon that includes 2 channels of audio, I get the expected 3 MXF files. I have yet to get it to syn with external double system audio with matching timecode to test that.

The camera original files have both picture and sound then? So no double system and sync in RCXPro?
Either way, the export should create MXF wrapped DNxHD and MXF audio files. Depending on the number of audio tracks recorded in camera, each clip will create 1 video + number of audio tracks. So two channel audio will create 3 MXF files.
I’ll give it a shot here and see what happens.

That should work fine as long as FrameFlex was applied on the source clips and not in the timeline. If it in the timeline, then you need to render sequence in order for the re-framing to take effect.

You need to render the timeline after you relink back to camera originals in order to get proper FrameFlex applied if any were done in the timeline (as with a move etc).
Render as DNxHD 444 or ProRes 444 if you want (provided the sources were 444?). Then do an export Same as Source.
