Faster way to copy clip info to other clips in a bin
Hi,
I created a column to add info to clips in a bin that will be the same for every clip in the bin. So if the first clip in the bin has “abcd” entered into the column, I want every clip below that to say “abcd” in the same column. The way I’ve been doing it is copy, enter, paste, enter, paste, enter, paste…ect. There MUST be an easier way!

This feature has been in for a while, but is not obvious:
Copy the text you want.
Highlight all the clips you want to be part of the past operation.
Move the cursor under the column you want the info paste into.
Cursor will change to a text edit type cursor.
Right click and select “Set for selected clips…”Where will be the name of the column you are pasting into.
Once selected, a little text box appears, paste (or type into it) and click OK.

It’s not obvious that this feature exists – it is a careful cross section of column and highlighted clips. As you move the mouse under the column you want to add info to, the cursor changes. At that point you right-click, and in that long menu, somewhere between a third and halfway down there is a menu selection that includes the name of the column into which you right-clicked. Select it, and the box appears. I’ll try to make a screen capture movie when I get to my system and post it.

Thanks, Michael. I’ve got it now. For some reason I couldn’t make it work before. It’s a tricky one!
