If it doesn’t matter how many times I drag the same movie to the screen, how about if I drag the first movie to the opening screen twice, and on the second copy set a start point towards the end of the movie so when they click on that version it only plays a segment of the video? And do the same for the second video. Would that work?

John…sorry for the wait. Delivery problems with my Vegas editing computers monitor. I opened the original veg file created in vegas 4 and went to properties. It shows it as avi so I don’t understand why I can’t open the same project in Version 7 of Vegas. I also played around and found another project I did in Vegas 4, and it opened ok in version 7???? I will see if there is anything else I can figure out. If so I will get back to you. I really appreciate your help. Have a great week. Michael

I understand what you want now. Sorry for not understanding. I will open the vegas project from version 4 and check the codec from that film and let you know…this will take a few days since my monitor went out and I am getting another one in this weekend. I will get back to you as soon as it is up and going. Thanks for your patience.

Actually I think I confused you. The AVI from the camera, into the computer. Took that film, used Vegas 4 to edit it, then rendered it as an mpeg1 movie. When I bring the veg file created in Vegas 4, into Vegas 7, that’s when the sound plays for only a second, and the timeline does not show audio. Or, if I bring the completed mpeg 1 video I rendered in Vegas 4, into Vegas 7, the same thing happens. It shows up in the timeline, plays fine, except for the audio problem. Sorry for not being clear. I appreciate your trying to help.

Very strange. I found several other mpeg1 videos I produced using Vegas 4, and if I bring them into Vegas 4 they play fine. If I play them in windows media player they play fine, but when I open them in Vegas 7, they do the same thing….video fine but audio only plays for a second. ???

mpeg 1 and mpeg layer 2 for audio, although I don’t think that is what you want to know. I think you want me to go to the original film and check that right? It has been a while since I put the film into the computer…is there an easy way to locate the original avi?
