    Mads.

Thanks for the ideas. I originally thought memory stick would be a good choice, then decided DVD might be better since I would want to make copies for family members, some of whom might prefer DVD. The video is a family history type video that runs about 30 minutes and when I use Sony Movie Maker and try to do the “Make Movie” to create a DVD, it tells me the video is too long (5.2 GB), and I’m trying to figure out what setting I could use to get it on to a 4.7 GB DVD.

Thank you so much for your input. The video itself is 30 minutes long, 2.6GB. I will try a different DVD.

I rendered the video using the main concept AVC/AAC (*.mp4; *.AVC) choice.

Is there a different choice I should choose for rendering?

Well for some reason now the software will let me make changes to the timeline and even go out of the software and start it up again, but it will not let me save anything. Save as will not let me type a new name.?? Trying to get just a piece of the video to show you.

It has been several…or so….years since I was shooting videos and editing. Did some corporate stuff for trade shows etc..Recently I have been asked to do a couple of projects but don’t have the knowledge about the latest formats to know if can still use what I have or if I need to look for a reasonably priced replacement. I don’t know that I would need to upgrade Vegas since the projects would be fairly basic, and I also have the latest version of Movie Studio Platinum, but with most people using wide screen monitors the way I was doing projects would come out as a square in the middle of the wide screen…probably not the best look. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks so much for your time.

Thanks for the response G. Here’s is what I have:
From the new button I chose new menu based DVD.
With the insert/media buttons I added three videos.
When I click on video one, here are my choices under ACtion:

    * Command – Link (no other options under link)
    * Destination – Video 1 (no other options)
    * Destination chapter – 1:Scene/Chapter

There is no option for End Action.
I am probably in the wrong place. The box with all the above commands has a title of Button Properties and I don’t see a way to bring up a box that says Media Properties so that may be the trouble?

Hold on…..Update, I found it! I really appreciate your help you got me looking in the right direction.

I just needed to double click on the video to get to its properties and end action was right there.

I appreciate it. Have a great week!

    Thanks for responding.

The actual pixel size is 1464 X 1434.
    Project properties size 720 x 480.

I don’t have a good handle on what affects photo size and pixels etc. so I appreciate your help.

Did I need to size down the picture before bringing it into Vegas?
