Thanks Bob, I’llcheckthem out. I did discoverthat by jumpering the connection the fan will run. It just will never shut off.

Thanks for the reply. If I can’t get it to stop crashing I will definitely come back with all that information and then some. I’m hoping it’s just a matter of a bad install. Our network has caused issues in the past with some of the installs from the cloud.

Thanks for the reply. The drive is NTFS formatted. I’ll double check tomorrow but I’m pretty sure it is. Plus the file sizes are below 4 GB because they have to fit on a standard DVD.As soon as I get everything off of the drive I’m going to double check and make sure it’s formatted according to G Techs instructions. I’m thinking I may have missed a setting.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I’ll see what they can find for me on the Nvidia side. Have to use “approved vendors” you know… I was leaning on the CUDA side of things but just needed to see if the new tech hype was something to consider.

Thanks everyone for the reply’s. Alex, in answer to your question I’m using a Dell T5600. I’ve “enabled” the cuda on the card but it still is pretty herky jerky on play back when I have a couple layers. A video layer and 2 PS layers. I get a lot of yellow and very little green. AE is really hindered by it. I don’t think I have to worry about the power supply. I’ll look into the 760. I still haven’t heard anything regarding AMD Radeon HDs, only GTX cards. Are they that inferior?

Hi Joe,
Thanks for the reply. Yes I’ve tried all the gain settings. If I crank the input level via the Windows control, it’s way distorted. The output settings are all cranked too. Unless there is a way to crank the input level via windows and then dial it down post input. Not sure how to do this or if it can be done. BTW I’m only recording voice overs.

Thanks Dave!
I was looking all over for it and with the depth of controls I just wasn’t finding the right one to use.

Tim,
Thanks for the reply. I just found out about the AE solution. You are correct, it is a very simple and easy.

Well I finally received “the solution”. My IT departemtn granted me full admin rights because they could not figure out how to make this work without them. We were close but they decided they had spent too much time on this and had to cut the project loose. The one thing they do that is still screwing me up is that they redirect eerything to a network located My Documents folder. They don’t want to have anything being loaded into the local My Documents folder which Premiere Pro does for virus security reasons. I figured I’d give them a couple weeks to simmer down before I approach getting that changed too. At least I can use the software when I’m connected to our network. If anyone knows of a work around the MY Documents question feel free to chime in, otherwise thanks for all the help.
