Did you upgrade with any FW devices attached to your Mac? If so thats why. Unhook all external FW devices and reinstall Quicktime and Tiger

If I have learned anything in my life, people don’t like change, so expect some people to not like ANY change you make. Don’t listen. Instead go with your instincts full speed ahead and damn the nay sayers. They will get used to whatever the change may be.
Change is, more often than not, a very good thing. Especially if made by one who trusts his instincts. And of course, that is you.

You do not need QT Pro to use FCP. The pro Key adds enhancements to the QT player.

My understanding of Final Touch is that it relies a GREAT deal on the GPU. You saying it doesnt David? Guess I can ask Wednesday NIght when they demo at the lafcpug meeting.

Bizarre but true .He was speaking about the demo we were about to do (9 streams of HD) and not about read/write performance.

At our big rollout for FCP 5 last May in Hollywood I was working with a Engineer from Apple setting up the system which consisted of a couple XRaids striped together. He was telling me that he found better performance with one rather than striping two. Go figure
