  • Fresh Install of Tiger and Final Cut Studio – Can’t capture DV!

    Hi,

I started with a new hard drive. Freshly installed Tiger and Final Cut Studio. Repaired permissions, updated to 10.4.1, ran Disk Warrior and repaired permssions again.

Now I can’t capture NTSC DV using a Sony GV-D900 (the walkman DV deck). I normally use this instead of our DSR-11 for DV (as opposed to DVCAM) capture because sometimes the DSR-11 doesn’t play DV correctly.

    With Batch capture I get:
“Batch Capture – preparing for capture”
“Batch Capture – cueing source material”

The footage is cued correctly then I get:
“This operation could not be completed as there is no video” (I can see the video on the external monitor).

I tried both firewire NTSC and Firewire Basic, same result.

Then I tried capture now, same result.

    What next?

    Thanks!

    Mitch
