Add the realtime timecode burn-in, output to tape in realtime, capture that back in realtime. It will shave 2 hours off the turnaround time.

Import a script, drag a clip to it, then try to use ScriptSync to sync the clip to the script. I believe it asks for your activation code then. Enter it and ScriptSync will be activated.

Once you have your speed ramp set, open up the motion editor (effect editor, then click the Motion effect on your clip). Promote it, set your render to FluidMotion, hit render and get some coffee (it will take a while). Should be smooth as butter after that.

When you check “Autodetect Sequential Files”, you’re then selecting just the first jpeg and importing right? If you select them all I believe it will still bring them in as individual files.

Yes. If he sends bins back from 5 and they have sequences, though, he’ll need to demote them first so they’ll be compatible on your 3.5 system.

Look under your menu settings (File, Edit, Special, Tools, Etc…) and make sure that “Render on the Fly” is checked. I can’t remember exacty which menu it’s under, so check them all until you find it.

You originally imported a Quicktime. Avid doesn’t import partial Quicktimes, even after consolidation, so that’s why it’s reimporting the entire file.
I honestly don’t know how you’d get around this. Set it to batch import at night before you go home and let it crunch while you sleep.

Download the 30 day trial from Avid’s website and import it into Avid. Give them the media and project file and you’ll be good to go.
