    Hi,
No problem. Once your camera is solved in boujou, simply export the camera to C4D (assuming you are using a newer version of boujou, we are using bullet SD v 4.0). If you are using an old version of boujou, you need to export a boujou .ban file, and use the plug in that’s available on the 2d3 website. Once you open that file in C4D, all you need to do is create a background with your video, and it should all match up. BTW, export flagged tracks only from boujou, otherwise all of your tracks will come in. I generally pick 7-10 points to export, to keep things easier.

  • Brian,
I see what you have going, and I should be able to make this work. Theoretically it’s a bit confusing. It seems that you are passing the emmited particles to the group pre, which is passed to MI, and deflector nodes, and then to a new group. It seems as though the particle is passed to the post group right at the point of the first deflection. At that point, the rest of the motion is controlled in group post. Why are the second set of nodes needed. Shouldn’t the first MI and deflector maintain throughout? Maybe you could explain a bit why the second set is needed. In any case, thank you for you time and help, it’s been great.

  • That’s what I’m getting. The Particles are sticking to the left hand side as the sphere moves left to right.

  • Hi Brian,
This definitely gets the particles moving with the moving object. Here’s the problem. I have a collision object (sphere acting as the snow globe), so the objects don’t go outside my globe. when I add this collision object, the particles are sticking to (in your example) the left side of the sphere, as the null moves left to right. If I take the null object out of the equation leaving just the collision object, the particles continue to bounce as expected, once i reintroduce the move they stick to the left? Any idea?

yes, it really is a pain in the butt, but at least merging the layer sets, or importing the footage as a comp brings in the correct layers.

    Hi,
It’s always worked great in previous versions, not in CS3. I’ve contacted the plug in maker, and a software update is still not on the horizon.

July 10, 2007 at 12:56 pm in reply to: Premultiplied Alpha in a Quicktime File

    Hi,

Unmult will get rid of black. I have an alpha in the file, I’m looking to interpret it correctly as premultiplied. I can easilly do this in After Effects, but see no way in Premiere.

  • My original file was an AVI rendered with the blackmagic codec. As far as Quicktime settings in cleaner, I’ve use about 10 different settings. I’ve also gotten Squeeze to work with the same results. Here’s the curveball that I’ve figured out today. The file plays correctly and holds sync on two different machines (workstations with fast drives). My laptop seems to be the culprit (This is a practically brand new Sony Vaio, and the drives are definitely fast enough to handle a 40mb file. Just to rule out the file size, I created a quicktime at about 400kbs, and the file was only about 9mb. This still lost sync in Quicktime. Again, the wmv’s played fine even at 60 and 80mb files sizes. I checked all of the quicktime settings and preferences, and they were the same on the laptop as the workstation. I even downloaded and installed the lastest version of Quicktime, but that did not help either. It’s really a weird thing.
