Ah, no. I think I should explain my workflow better.

The project started in Premier. To color correct each scene I sent them by dynamic link to after effects.

When I try to export the entire sequence from Premier in Adobe media encoder, at some point whether it be 5 or 15 hours it hangs or crashes.

I did a test and pre-rendered one scene in after effects and it moves much more quickly through AME.

The CC is complete. Now I just need to pre-render. Which is the best way?

OR, is is better to render and replace in Premiere?

I generally never have the need to pre render because the graphic work I do is generally worked on until the final export (and then often times after).

I wrote above that these were shot at 29.97.

I’m remastering so that means that I’ve recut from the masters in Premier.

Actually that can make it look bad in another way.

So Dave, this is my “fix”. I’m hoping that you (or other can improve upon it.

If I just set “Separate Fields” to OFF that mostly fixes my main strobing issue, but then the rest of the clip looks interlaced.

So what I am doing is in the project window I duplicate the video and then separate fields. Then in the comp I duplicate the clip. I replace it with the new video. THEN I mask of the problem area so just those show over the original clip.

There has to be a better way.

    Its 29.97.

The film had it’s day. It ran on Sundance Channel 2002-2004 like this and no one ever complained. I just figured if I am remastering I might as well fix this along with other things I fixed, if I can.
