Thanks, Eric for your reply. To be clear, the dual-layer DVD was simply for client review, and not intended to be used as a master. The DDP discs, 1 each for layer 0 & layer 1, were DVD-R; Taiyo-Yuden is our standard disc brand. I’m surprised, as you are, our vendor suggested using the dual-layer disc as a master! I offered, but they did not want DLTs. Anyway, I sent them new DDP discs, and hopefully they are okay. Thanks again for your help.

I’m having the exact same problem, but the solution did not work for me. The project is small, so I’ll rebuild it in CS3 and hope that works.

Thanks, Shane. I thought this was the case, but I was hoping otherwise.

The component inputs on a PVW2800 are self-terminating. I assume the inputs to your capture card are self-terminated as well.

We have had the GX-2 for about 18 months, and it’s a workhorse. Please note the specs recommend a second INTERNAL hard drive (not external), and a short USB connection. Please read the specs carefully and you should be okay. We also use Taiyo Yuden discs exclusively.

    Richard,
It was already a smart object, so this worked perfectly. You saved me at least an hour or two of tedium. Many thanks!

It works for me. There must be something wrong in the .scc file. I don’t believe Encore does anything to the file.

October 9, 2008 at 12:20 pm in reply to: Microboard MX2 Opinions? Warnings?

    Chris,
We are using the GX-2 with great results. The MX seems to be quite similar, but bigger & better.
    2 things:
Microboards recommends 2 hard drives, in the same computer, not an external drive.
The other is to keep the USB cable as short as possible – use the cable they provide.
I also recommend you have a computer dedicated to burning so that you don’t tie up machines for more important tasks such as editing or graphics.
    I hope this is helpful.
