Create a rectangle (no stroke or fill) around your artwork (larger than the art of course).

    Save.

    There you go.

    or

select the rectangle and use the option to create crop marks

    Save.

Both yield the same results I believe…

  • Don’t try to break out in Orlando then…the day rate here is probably (ok it is) even less than Miami…

That looks a lot like eurostile or microgramma too…. (I’ve worked at 2 stations using a typeface like that…)

I cannot wait for the Mac-Centric community to be dragged into the universe of viruses/spyware. The holier than thou situation they enjoy is coming to an end some day….it is UNIX based afterall…:)

How big are your files? I’d llke to take a look at them too…I’ve been messing with the 3d camera in AE over the last few years…last time I did an animation like you’re trying to do, I did the whole project in lightwave instead…

April 8, 2005 at 7:33 pm in reply to: 16:9 codec?

Use the quicktime animation codec…. it imports quickly into the Adrenalines we have here… and allows 32 bit files.

Note: we do not use 16:9 setups nomally here on our AVIDs…I have tried rendering the 16×9 footage w the AVID meridian codec and it DOES NOT like files bigger than 720×486.

However animation codec movies import into our adrenaline correctly…

If you are just swapping movies for use in after effects (not final viewing) you could try the PNG quicktime codec. It has much smaller file sizes than animation codec and retains the use of the alpha channel…

Best codecs that I have run into/use are the animation codec (quicktime) or the “none” codec (quicktime)…

the core problem with these codecs is that they are HUGE….many megs per second….. I still haven’t found a codec that has an alpha that doesn’t butcher the footage AND has a small file size…

I personally use the animation codec all the time when I need to share 32bit files with folks outside of my facilty..

I have used Illustrator since version 4 on Windows (on floppies) ….and when my change from 8 to 10 happened…I was totally lost with pathfinder until the day I discovered the “new” expand button… I appreciate the ability to edit vectors (in a combined pathfinder boolean) but I miss the simplicity of the earlier versions…

don’t get me started on the way they handle compound paths as layers now!….:)
