It’s just weird. Be Course i have a file that is an episode from a series, and not footage. Only thing is that is has been trough the avid dv50 codec. And once i pull it into FCP, the format changes to 720×576 when opened with QT. But when i open the referencefile, it’s clearly a wider view i get from the ref-file, fitting the 767×576 frame in QT. This stretches the Graphics i made on the textless, in fcp.

See, it’s NOT going back onto digibeta. They obviously want the file to be “720×576 (767×576) Avid Dv 50”

But i’m having trouble editing in this format.

I could just do a simple 4/3 and export it afterwards in fcp as a 4/3, and the put it trough the quicktime cnversion. But then the text i created get’s a wee stretched. And i don’t want that.

Hey Rafael! -You’re ALWAYS the best to awnser quickly, and i REALLY appriciate it! Especially, being a newbie in this game.

But can you specify the “turn it into footage” -process? In FCP? >>And what is the difference between “Footage” and a normal uncompressed 8bit sequence? Except i figured it might be square pixels?

    …Ohhh my- What a mess!!

Forget the previous post. I have the picture in canvas when playing, but when i pause, it disapears!

    …and it looks rather pixilated.

YES! – it’s now an option, when i want to export as a QT -file, i now get the AVID DV format!

    Well!! Everyone!

…After switching the Codec to another, (the same but from different source!) It looks to be working!

    BUT…

It’s not playing in the CANVAS window, as i play. And it looks rather pixilated in the viewer window when i pause.

    Anyone?

    Please advise!

    Hi everyone!

Can this also be done in FCP? (The shine effect across the letters.)

Or does it have to be in After effects?

    Best.

I think this is obvious a matter of field dominance.

-Did you try to put the Filter _ Video-filters: Video : De-interlace? on the Jpeg? – it also has a
    flicker-filter inside you can adjust.

But yes. Like above: Try to put the sequence in LOWER field dominance.

Or try the : Video-filters, Video: Shift fields. on the Jpeg.

Also!!! -Always use TIFF. Goes better with FCP. i was told.

I’ve been fighting this monster for so long. And i’ve finally figured it out. ALWAYS use lower field domi when setting up the sequence if it’s DV. And UPPER field-domi when it’s Uncompressed!

See the questions i’ve asked in some of my previous posts!

    Hope all goes well!!

It should somehow be possible, just to do it directly in FCP.

Then should it be square pixels? Or PAL CCIR 601?

I have no idea what the difference really is?
