I remember once seening, if i’m not mistaken, a guy hooking his lowbudget sony mini dv-cam up to his computer trough firewire, and taking pictures direct as we sad and spoke, in the capture-window. Those formed a singular 1 frame’s on his timeline, -leading to a stop-motion sequence.

I have tryed, and tryed to redo this action, without any luck!

The camera is in filming mode, the contact is trough to the capture-window. But then what?!?!

How do i photograph trough Final cut!?

    PLEASE ADVISE MY FAVORITE KNOW-IT-ALL!

i don t know about doing it natively in FCP, but i will simply take pictures with a still caméra. Name them in a logical order ( 001, 002, 003 …. you camera probably do it already) and then in the user pref adjust my still import duration to 1 frame. So then just drag all pic into your time line and they will be all playing one after the other, displaying just 1 frame for each one. Then you can play with your fps if you desire.

There is even a better way in motion i guess, where motion compile all those files into one big clip.

there is also a couple of software just for that ex: istopmotion

It should somehow be possible, just to do it directly in FCP.

    Anyone?

I don’t know of anyway to make FCP just capture one live frame through Log and Capture.

i bet if some guys took the time to develop specific tools that mean it s something lacking in FCP. If not every body will be doing it that way. Maybe some plugins exist …?
