You need to fiddle with your capture-device settings. (google)!

Set it to firewire. standard of some sort. you should be able to just get a straight line video into the capture window, and just hit “NOW” in the capture window.

    Could the clip be disabled?

Right-click on the clip, to check enable,/disable.

    Tryed SHIFT-fields?

  • Hi there.

I always edit in uncompressed 8-bit (Pal, or Ntsc). It’s a fairly highscale resolution. i suppose the small image in your canvass is due to your sequence pre-sets (maby). If your FCP is a elder vesion (5.0) the sequence does not adjust to the clip, when dragging it onto the timeline.

So my advise! Match the sequence to the clip.
NEVER use mpeg in fcp. it always bring me problems. Use a .mov -Fcp is quicktime based.

    Nothing seems to be compressed.

Everythings fits the sequence, that is upper, uncompressed 2 bit.

    I do have a tiff, a boris-3d-title involved.

    Thanks My man!

…i suppose this was the answer i really was looking for! It’s just really annoying still. -I have to deliver the files digitally. And there-for the client opening them, will have a rather dis-formed view of the sequence, being that QT stretches the sequence. -therefor, my credits and text will also appear stretched, when they preview them.

-And there’s no way i’m gonna tell the client to go lock their QT in a certain frame 🙂

Again. Nevermind now. UNCOMPRESSED 8-BIT FTW! 😉

Thanks. i did just that. But exproting the sequence and opening it in quicktime, still showed a frame with difference. Anywwo, a solution have presented it selves. And i now don’t have to deal with annoying codecs. I just have to deliver my uncompressed 8bit…

Aahhh,,, Thank god for uncompressed 8bit….

That’s a great question. I’ll sit in on this one!
