    Hi John.

PA 4.5.1 should be compatible with 10.6.6.

We keep a non-factory-default version of the swatches in your ~/Documents/Zaxwerks folder.
We use these swatches when starting ProAnimator. If the folder is empty, we won’t show any swatches.

I suggest you find the folder named “ProAnimator” inside of “~/Documents/Zaxwerks.”
This is where we keep the swatches.

Rename the “ProAnimator” folder to “ProAnimator – backup” and then restart ProAnimator.

Since the “ProAnimator” folder is missing, we’ll copy the factory default swatches into a new “ProAnimator” folder.
You should then see the default swatches.

Note: In ProAnimator v5 (coming soon), we have put in a Reset button that will make this process much easier.

Let us know if you have any more questions.

    Thanks Ed.

My coffee hadn’t quite done its job yet this morning.

No, you can’t print (Cmd+P) shaders. Cmd+V will do the paste.

    Hi William.

    Here’s how to do it:
    1. Click on the Shader preview image that you want to copy (the image to the left of the Color checkbox).
    2. Type Cmd+C (or Control+C on Windows) to copy it.
    3. Click on the Shader preview image where you want it to be pasted (the image to the left of the Bump checkbox).
(you may have to add a default Bump shader before you can select the preview image)
    4. Type Cmd+P (or Control+P).

Note that you can copy like types, so Shader to Shader, Shader Block to Shader Block, and Material Channel to Material Channel.

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Hi William.

There is a known bug regarding changing the Hard Shading Angle of imported 3D objects.
We’re working on a fix, and will let you know when one is ready.

In the meantime, are you able to re-export the football helmet with smoother normals baked in?

    Stay tuned.

December 23, 2010 at 7:05 pm in reply to: ProAn / InvigPRo v5 – OpenGL improvements?

    Hi Jim.

If you’d like to get a sense of the improvements in the 3D Invigorator v5,
we welcome you to download it and give the demo a spin.

A higher end graphics card would help in the following ways:
    – The ability to render more complex geometry faster
    – More VRAM means the ability to render larger frames on the graphics card

But overall, you won’t see any huge improvements by spending more on a card.

Since we now have an improved GL Renderer, you can use it to render
high quality frames faster. If your scene doesn’t require some of the features
of the software renderer, you can significantly improve your rendering speeds
    by using the GL Renderer.

Let us know if you have any more questions.

December 20, 2010 at 2:03 am in reply to: 3D Serpentine 2.0 Install Fails due to Norton’s SONAR

    Hi Ed.

Could you please email me a screenshot of what Norton is giving you?
I’d appreciate it. It looks like I can dispute this on Norton’s site,
but I need to give them a bit of evidence.

You can email me offline: matt@zaxwerks.com

    Thanks again.

December 20, 2010 at 1:58 am in reply to: 3D Serpentine 2.0 Install Fails due to Norton’s SONAR

    Hi Ed.

Thanks for letting us know about this.

I can assure you that the installation is safe, and really basic.
I wrote our installer to keep things simple from a user perspective.

We copy some files into your After Effects plug-ins folder
(a folder you choose, or at least accept, when installing).

That’s it. Nothing else is done until you begin using the software.

I’m not familiar with Norton’s SONAR function, so I’ll have to
see why it doesn’t like our file copying functionality.

    Thanks.

    Hi Lars.

I sent you an email offline.

It looks like there may be a conflict when a map is set to both the front and backfacing maps.
The solution/workaround is to set the Backfacing Color Map menu to “None” instead
of setting it to the same value as the Front Color Map.

    Hi Lars.

Would you mind sending me your project? I’d be happy to take a look.
Also send a few steps to follow in order to see the problem.

  • Hi Zeno.

3D Reflector 2.0 requires a different authorization code from 1.0.

You can upgrade from 1.0 for $25.00 at the Zaxwerks Store.

See the following link for more information:
