3D Serpentine 2.0 Install Fails due to Norton’s SONAR
I tried installing this Zaxwerk 3D Serpentine 2.0 update when it was released in early November. Norton’s Security 2010 software SONAR function kept quarantining the install with the message: A program was behaving suspiciously on your computer. You chose to block and remove it. I didn’t have a choice, it just removes it and reboots the PC.
I wrote to the Zaxwerk support contact and got a reply that it’s OK. However, I wouldn’t expect such a problem. I waited for others to experience their installs before trying again. I just tried to reinstall the update (Dec 18th) and I still get the quarantined, even though the noted Norton community user count jumped from the original 3 to 100. What’s everyone’s opinion on this installation issue? Is it safe enough? Are you getting the same Norton quarantine event?

Thanks for letting us know about this.
I can assure you that the installation is safe, and really basic.
I wrote our installer to keep things simple from a user perspective.We copy some files into your After Effects plug-ins folder
(a folder you choose, or at least accept, when installing).That’s it. Nothing else is done until you begin using the software.
I’m not familiar with Norton’s SONAR function, so I’ll have to
see why it doesn’t like our file copying functionality.Thanks.
