There are two folder locations that the plug-ins could install into. Please check both folder locations and make sure that the plugs are in at least one location:

C:\Program Files> Adobe> Common> Plug-ins> CS4> MediaCore
or
C:\Program Files> Adobe> Adobe Premiere Pro CS4> Support Files> Plug-ins

The video card should not have a bearing on the install…

What options are you choosing when you run the installer…make sure you are choosing the Premiere Pro CS4 Option.

You do not need to uninstall 9.0 just install over it…and 9.3.2 will be a free upgrade so you don’t have to pay.

err…sorry I meant FX. As I mentioned before you need to install FX with the CS4 option…grab the most updated version from our updates page here: https://www.borisfx.com/updates/

Once you go to the link choose “FX” this will populate some options below.

The 2nd option Boris FX 9.3.2 Update for Boris FX 9.x Windows Users is the one you want.

Please download and install this then you should see FX in Premiere Pro

Hey Art,

My e-mails seem to be getting delayed…so I’m going to post those instructions here for you on how to use the filters with Premiere:

Applying a Boris Effect as a Filter

1.
Select a clip in the timeline.

2.
In the Project window, click the Effects Tab, and expand the Video Effects folder.

3.
In the 3rd Party Folder, drag the Boris filter plugin onto a clip in the Timeline.
The Boris user interface opens.

4.
Create your effect by choosing one of the many Boris effects from the Filters menu, or choose a premade settings file from the KeyFrame Library Browser.

5.
When you are satisfied with the effect, click the Apply button on the bottom right of the Timeline. This returns you to the Premiere desktop.

6.
Render your Boris effects the same way you would render any other effect in Premiere.

Applying a Boris Effect as a Composition Clip

1.
In Premiere, choose File > New > Boris Composition. The Boris user interface opens.

2.
Create a Boris effect, and use it as a source in your Premiere Timeline for transitions and filters.

3.
When you are satisfied with the effect, click the Apply button on the bottom right of the Timeline. You are returned to the Premiere interface, and a new Comp clip is placed into Premiere’s Project window.

4.
Drag the Comp clip into the Premiere Timeline as part of your edit.

5.
Render this the same way you would any other Premiere effect.

Applying a Boris Effect as a Transition

1.
Create In and Out points on the clips that will be part of the transition, and edit them into the Timeline.

2.
In the Project window, click the Effects Tab, and expand the Video Transitions folder.

3.
In the 3rd Party Folder, drag the Boris transition plugin between two clips in the Timeline.

4.
Double-click the Transition icon in the Timeline.
This opens the Effect Controls tab in the Monitor window.

5.
In the Monitor window click the Custom button to launch the Boris user interface. Be patient, as it may take several seconds to load.

6.
Open a Transitions Settings file from the Boris Keyframe Library, or choose a transition effect from either the Filters > Wipe Transitions or the FEC Plug-ins category.

7.
When you are satisfied with the effect, click the Apply button on the bottom right of the Timeline. You are returned to the Premiere interface.

8.
Render your Boris transition the same way you would any other Premiere transition.

Tips for Using Boris Software with Adobe Premiere and Premiere Pro

•When using a Boris effect that creates an alpha channel (such as a title, a shape that does not fill the screen, or a particle effect), the alpha channel appears black (rather than transparent) in the preview until you Control-click the effect in the timeline, choose Video Options > Transparency and in the Key Type menu, choose Alpha.

•Premiere is limited to two source track inputs. To use additional images and files, add the images directly within Boris software. Enter the Boris user interface and add unlimited tracks in the Boris timeline, importing movie and still image files, creating color, natural and gradient tracks and layering spline and text tracks over your effect.

•To display the Premiere sequence’s timecode in the Boris user interface, set the View Time menu in the General tab in the Preferences window to Program Timecode. You can open the Preferences window by choosing Boris > Preferences (Macintosh) or Edit > Preferences (Windows).

To access the presets go to the windows menu and choose Library Browser.

Not being able to export a .mov is normal with FX standalone. Being able to export standalone is a function you gain with Boris Red!

Is this with BCC 3D text or a different product?

If it is BCC Extruded text the opacity control is within the transformation controls group.
