Jim,
The one big upside to adding Graffiti to a machine alongside BCC would be for the text and text animation features.
The great thing is you can purchase BCC and if you’re not sure about Graffiti download the trial and test it out for the 14 day period.
Go to: https://www.borisfx.com/tutorials and choose Graffiti. The tutorials there will really show you what graffiti is capable of.

There isn’t really a way to achieve this. The basic translation stabilizes the X and Y.
What you might want to try is instead of stabilizing the clip is setting the mode to smooth.
Let me know if this provides a good result.

Here’s what the effect guide has to say:
Description: Blends the outgoing frame to the incoming frame over time.
This dissolve has preset parameters that emulate film’s response to black material. Use this effect for fade-ins and fade-outs.The Level parameter is preset to Kodak™ specifications. Avid does not
recommend adjusting the Level parameter. The Level set at 0% shows all of the
outgoing frame; the Level set at 100% shows all of the incoming frame.Kind of vague but the differences are probably subtle.

You need to revert back to QT 7.1 this should solve your issue.

What version of Avid and what version of QT?
