I researched this a bit because I was curious.

The only option I found was installing windows on the mac.

The only obstacle you may possibly run into with an uncompressed QT is file size.

You shouldn’t have an issue with the software.

    Joe,

I know there was a bug with some of the Avid codecs on Snow Leopard.

Not sure if that is your problem but you can try installing the latest version of the avid codecs.

    The link is below:

    Kris,

I do not have any answers for you but I have some advice.

Interplay is an advanced broadcast tool. Most knowledge on these board are on the Edit software side of things, you just don’t see much Interplay talk here.

You may want to check out Avid’s own community – https://community.avid.com . or the cow broadcast video forum https://forums.creativecow.net/broadcastvideo

Further, if you have a support contract with Avid I’m sure they could offer a lot of insight into your problems. Obviously you shouldn’t be seeing crashes nor should you be losing connectivity to the media indexer so frequently. You’ll also need to be more specific about the crashing.

If you don’t have a support contract I’d recommend one it looks like you have a lot invested in Avid products.

June 9, 2010 at 3:13 pm in reply to: MC 5 updating sequences with effects?

    Frank,

Some of the effects you are using need to be updated for use with MC5.

They handle this by creating a duplicate sequence that will work with MC5. They retain the old sequence so you could continue to use it with an earlier version of MC.

There isn’t a way around this I know of.

My suggestion would be to just move the sequences into separate bins.

    Chris,

You should find the FEC category in the filters menu of Boris FX.

    Marcus,

I would start by trashing preferences and rebooting the machine then trying again.

To delete prefs: Navigate to the Mac HD> Users> Current User> Library> Preferences.

In here locate and delete the Media 100 and/or media 100 Suite preferences
    folders.

Also there should be some files that begin Com.Media100. Delete all of
    these except the com.media100suite.Registration.plist file.
