  • MC 5 updating sequences with effects?

Posted by Frank Raposo on June 9, 2010 at 3:06 pm

I’m working with a beta of 5 and every time I try to double-click on a sequence with an effect MC5 creates a duplicate (updated) sequence. What’s the purpose and how do I get it to stop doing it? I’m afraid to delete anything in a project but all these updated sequences are cluttering up my bin. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Frank,

Some of the effects you are using need to be updated for use with MC5.

They handle this by creating a duplicate sequence that will work with MC5. They retain the old sequence so you could continue to use it with an earlier version of MC.

There isn’t a way around this I know of.

My suggestion would be to just move the sequences into separate bins.

Thanks. I’ll just wait ’till the full version is out and hopefully this will be resolved.

    Frank,

This is going to be the case with any sequence brought from an older version of MC regardless of the release.

It’s not a bug its a feature that is updating your effects to the current version of whatever effects the changed or added features too.
