Check out a piece of software called “Podder” ($10) It let’s you do batch lists and you can choose between h.264 or mpeg-4 (MUCH MUCH MUCH faster)The presets are pretty good and it takes a lot of the headache out of tweeking all of the settings in QT Pro

It means pan the nat sound to the left (channel 1) and pan the music to the right (channel 2). I think you can do this in AE, but I’m sure whatever you use to go to tape (like FCP or Premiere) can do it also.

This is so they can use one audio track without using the other, or they can mix the levels however they wish.

Don’t worry about having it sound bad having music from one side and nat sound from the other – they will (or should) mono mix it out on their end

just go into the disk utility, click on the disk and click on erase in the left window. You can format there, but obviously THIS WILL COMPLETELY ERASE YOUR DRIVE

I aslo use 864 x 486 but instead of dropping it into another comp torender out, I make a render preset that is set to “stretch” my comp to 720 x 486. (Using D1 frames not DV, but the same applies.) If you;re doing this a lot it’s just one less thing to have to remember instead of dropping it into another comp. Try it!

Did you try using the z channel effect? I’m rendering right now so I can’t see the right category but I think it’s in Channel or maybe 3D Effects? You apply the effect and then you can pull a depth of field, etc. Search the filters for depth of field or 3D glasses, it should be in the same category

Set an adjustment layer as the top layer of the comp and apply the warp effect to that. All layers below the adjustment layer will be effected. If you have layers below you DON’T want to warp, then pre-comp all of the layers you do want to warp and apply your effect to the pre-comp.

Atleast that’s how I’d do it–I’ve never tried to put an effect on a null, but I don’t think it would work….

Check out firstcom, they are huge and will be able to help you out. There actually are discs called “Home and Garden” and similar. I also use Video Helper (and love it) but PBS doesn’t come to mind when you hear their tracks!
