two questions. One, do you repair your CPU hard drive or would you repaire your external hard drive which has all the footage, thumbnail cache files, audio renders, waveform cache, ect…

and two, can you repair your directories on drives that have footage ect, this process wont cause you to lose anything? correct? Thanks.

I have live action fire but i don’t know how to manipulate it and have it “burn up” the video so i thought i would be able to do it AE.

our graphics guy has covered all of these things and the only solution seems to be a drastic change in color and blurring the edges of the text… and we have only encountered this with the DVC PRO HD Codec and it’s 1.5 pixel aspect ratio.

  • Thanks for the quick response! I’m going to test that out now.

  • So can i ask what your sequence settings are? We are using 24pa footage as well that comes in at 23.98 but we are mixing with archival footage at DV/DVCPRO NTSC and when we throw lower 3rds on the archival in a 1080p30 sequence the media gets distorted. Was wondering if this distortion has anything to do with sequence settings.

  • Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it. Sorry for the late response, it’s been busy. I’m going to give it a shot next capture, got the card might as well use it right.

    Side note…

I was just reading up on some other threads with audio sync issues and i noticed someone said to capture a tape in increments? we basically have 30 minute interview tapes and for the most part unless there is a camera break i’ve been capturing the tape as an entire clip. Should i break each tape up into 3 clips? The one tape that i captured in 2 clips had a long clip that was 3 frames out of sync and the shorter clip was in sync. on another side not i did try capturing a small chunk of a tape that was a little out of sync and even in a small chunk it still appeared to be out of sync so maybe not? Thanks
