    Hello everyone,

Has anyone noticed this issues in FCP 7. When bringing in text to a DVCPro 1080i sequence (1280×1080) there is a pixelation issue because of the 1.5 pixel aspect ratio? Does anyone know of a way to fix this? or have a work around?

My footage was shot DVCpro 1080 24pa and my sequence setting are 1280 x 1080, pixel aspect ratio: HD (1280 x 1080) Compressor is DVCPro HD 1080i60 with a 23.98 editing timebase.

The graphics guy has played around with FCP setting and we have gotten the lower thirds to work but the problem is we have to change the sequence settings to HDTV 1080i (16:9), pixel aspect ratio to square and then manually stretch the frame out to fill the screen then render everything. Thanks for any help.

working on a Mac Pro 2 x 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor with 6GB RAM with snow leopard

you should be rendering out of AE as a dvcpro hd file.

    is that what your doing?

our graphics guy has covered all of these things and the only solution seems to be a drastic change in color and blurring the edges of the text… and we have only encountered this with the DVC PRO HD Codec and it’s 1.5 pixel aspect ratio.
