Per that would be the Worker Node which is a the automation engine application for CatDV server. This tool can apply metadata and publish to the server among other things.

Doug CDFinder is really a compliment to CatDV from my view. CatDV being cross platform and utilizing a central database and server might be just the ticket to expand not only the metadata but the ability to collaborate. There are a number of videos here that can help you get to know the application better. https://www.squarebox.co.uk/tutorials.html

Exporting preferences is new in version 9.0 users of previous version should do what Whitney describes. The Enterprise Server stores the preferences on the server so users get them when the sign on or switch production groups!

Can you send a copy of the two xml files to support at Squarebox? That would be great I suspect there will be a number of anomalies but then again it might be something simple. There are a number of preference settings in CatDV that could impact this process depending on the versions of FCP and CatDV.

That is good info as well and Philip is very knowledgeable about these workflows. CatDV will also work in reverse try exporting an xml from FCPx and import or drag and drop it into CatDV.

Good info folks, you can bring range markers over as well. As it stands FCPx ignores the other markers but will pass them through the XML.
If you guys have problems be sure to bring it up on the CatDV forum as this is obviously still a work in progress!
