If you open those clips up in the source window then check the Effects tab you should see the LUT as a Lumertri effect and turn it off. Alternatively you can right clip the clip in the library and choose “Disable Master Effects” and that will disable the LUT.

@Victor, I’m in the same boat. I’m a bit confused why some of the Pro features weren’t in the initial release, but I’ll save my critique until they are added.

October 22, 2010 at 4:40 pm in reply to: FCP7: change frame size within timeline-quick fixIs is just an aspect ratio change? You should be able to highlight all the clips within that time line, right click, and choose remove attributes. Then check only the distort and motion boxes.
That will remove the auto re size that FCP had originally done.

I created a screen grab using the mac screen grab Shift+command+4 and tired to import that into AE with no luck.
You last comment made sense. I didn’t even think that it may be an OS issue. I tried importing a PNG file and a PNG sequence on another machine and it imported without any errors.
So, it must be an OS issue. Which is also strange. We just did a complete erase and reinstall of the OS on this system about a month ago.
Which was Leopard, if that makes any difference.hmmm
Thanks again for your help on this.

I’m running 9.0.2.42 currently. I tried importing an image into PS and exporting a PNG to see if the files were saved improperly or corrupt some how. Still doesn’t work.
I’ll have to hit up Adobe for some insight.
Thanks for your help.

That’s what I ultimately did, but it seems that any png image won’t load. Strange.

I’m respond here to what you posted in a later post.

Did that make an sense?[Tommy Martiniere] “I have been outputing to my Sony GV HD700 to mini dv and then letting another company go from MiniDV to BetaSP.”
You’re taking a big hit in quality when you go to Mini DV before Beta SP. Outputting direct to Beta SP or even HDV then to Beta SP would help keep quality.

July 7, 2009 at 4:10 pm in reply to: How to change the format settings of a sequence AFTER the editing on FCE?[pascal renaud]
When I put the original video files in my sequence they were extremely reduced and with very bad pixel quality. NOW I understood that if I want to start a new project I have to use an easy setup corresponding to my original video files (in this case: Apple Intermediate Codec 1440x1080i50).What version of FCP are you using? In FCP 6 when editing a clip that is a different format than the sequence it is being added to, it will askk you if you would like to change the sequence to match the clip’s settings.
Have you already made your edits? if so then you can change the current sequence settings by choosing “Sequence” from the top drop down menu and then choose “settings”. Just match the parameters to your captured clips. Or select all clips in your sequence and choose “Edit” from the top drop down menu and choose “copy”. Then change your easy setup to match your captured clips. Then create a new empty sequence and paste your clips into the new sequence. You may need to remove the scaling that was previously done.

No it really was, I swear. It’s always the easiest of things that can go wrong.
We had about 13 different scenes to revise. Each with a different disclaimer. Unfortunately there was no generic master or EDL. So we had to create our own. There was a unique repo on each scene, I had a good time making sure everything matched. The disclaimer was the easy part. I actually didn’t notice the issue. The dub house was sending the commercial via DG (?) and it I believe the compression they used exaggerated the incorrect field order.
Either way it was a lesson learned the hard way. Thanks for everyone’s help on this. It’s helped me understand the innards of After Effects a little better.

Sorry for the delayed response.
I actually did respond, but my browser apparently decided better. Thanks for all your time on this. I did edit in 29.97. I was trying to create a generic clip to place a disclaimer on. We didn’t have anything to go on but the transfer tape which was in HD. I brought the SD master and the HD sections into Final Cut. I eye-matched the scenes and brought the pieces (SD and HD) into After Effects via Automatic Duck.
I used the SD master as reference and then scaled and repositioned as best I could.By the sounds of it it looks like I should have removed the pull down, did my repo and then adding pulldown back in the render. Does that sound right?
Thanks again.
