Thanks Jim,
Can you just clarify where I find the Animation Codec? Should I see this in the list of export types..eg. Adobe Motion Exchange..or do you mean to use AVI and a different compressor type?
Kind regards,
Matt

Ok…I’ve now realised that what I really want to do is somehow save the text I have animated with transparency in the background. (ALpha Channel?)
When I bring the text in with black background into Premiere I get a black background over the video as well…I’ve then tried using a Luma Key..which works kind of…but for some reason the levels on my white text get lost…
I’m kinda a bit confused here…is this the best way to do this?
In essence what is the simplest or best way of bringing a transparent animated text graphic from After Effects to Premiere..and then overlaying this text over video?
(I have Premiere Pro 1 and After Effects 6)

December 5, 2005 at 10:48 am in reply to: Sequence Markers that don’t want to go?? Prem Pro.Thanks Mike,
Alt 0 deletes all the markers…which I could still do via menu too…but for some reason individual markers wouldn’t go…
…anyway the good news is that after a nights sleep Premiere is now performing the deletion of individual markers too via Ctrl 0 and in menu…when also fails restart the computer…I simply forgot the golden rule of error fixing!
Thanks!

Maybe Adobe is waiting to launch AE 7 as part of the wider suite of upgrades..ie. Auditon, Encore etc. in the Video Collection…and I guess just one delay in development of a single piece could be enough to hold the whole show up!
Anyway there’s nothing quite like a bit of speculation:) -

Regarding Total Training..I’m currently working through the series on Adobe After Effects…and I’m wishing I had done this much sooner! In fact it’s even inspired me to do the training for other titles such as Photoshop…to overcome some of my more fumbling moments in the program trying to figure things out by trial and error.
While I usually pick up things ok on Computers..I’ve now realised how much shorter the learning curve can be by having professional training instruction…
With Total Training and a notebook..and a bit of discipline to work through the lessons, it’s amazing how much can be learned…particulary in terms of the more efficient ways to do things.
The only thing I miss about an actual course with real people is the opportunity to ask those quick and easy questions..which can be a stumbling block on your own…but that’s where the great people on this forum come in!
I also eagerly await news of the new Video Collection and training series.

Thanks Jim,
That works great
Total Training guy kept mentioning “space” bar…but I must have misunderstood what he meant that was for.
Really appreciate your help…when you’ve got no one close by to ask..it’s amazing how some of the simplest things can be a big problem!
Appreciate your time!

Just found the answer Milton…”Zero” on num pad is ram preview not space…frustrating thing about learning a new program is when you’ve got no one to ask some of these real basic quick questions!!
Thanks, Matt

Great to here that helped Milton…
Can I ask you a basic question..(I’m in the process of learning AE via Total Training)…when I press “Space” and do a preview…I should be able to hear audio files right? I know my audio works generally because individual tracks can be previewed via the “.” on the num pad…(thus the Quicktime version works)
For some reason I just can’t get audio to preview along with all the other layers…
I’ve checked the little speaker on the preview controls + looked that the speaker is “on” on the individual track…
Can you think of any obvious reason why my audio won’t play via space bar preview? I’m not sure whether I’ve just missed some ‘newbie’ option..or still might be having Quicktime issues or something.
I’ve tried different audio files…even tried a different install on another pc…any clues? I’m hoping it’s just a simple beginner AE problem I’m having.
Thanks.

I just had this same error with AE 6.0 Pro.
Found a few others that have the issue via Google Search.
Anyway I think ITunes or the very latest Quicktime might be the culprit.
I uninstalled Quicktime…then reinstalled with a fresh Quicktime install I had downloaded a while back..7.02a38
Quicktime now tries to tell me to update to the latest…but I’m happy with the old one that now gives me a working system!
