    Thanks for that…

I also found this document very useful….

    https://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/328850.html

I basically managed to get mine working by doing a complete uninstall of my first attempts

Then I copied the entire DVD contents to my HD. as per instructions in above doc.

Then I ran install from setup.exe…after making sure to keep background programs out the way.

Apart from Illustrator I think I’ve got everything working ok now…

I think it may have been a background program that caused the grief the first time.

    Thanks again.

Actually correction….it’s not nice that others have had issues (a tad comforting that I’m not the only one) but certainly not nice…

I’m just hoping to one day be able to get the software working!

Thanks for the feedback…I tried all yesterday and overnight…the little clock said about 819 minutes or some ridiculous figure…and still problems…the graphics on the Installer app go quite strange during the process..+ the bar moves incredibly slowly and it doesn’t always prompt me for the next DVD…so I’ve tried guessing when it is ready. Maybe I do need to be more patient….

Will contact Adobe today..thanks for the feedback..nice to know others have had issues.

Thanks Jeff, greatly appreciate your help on this! Thought there must be an option somewhere.

Is nice to have somewhere to come to ask questions and get the answers!

    Thank you!

  • Well I’ve just installed Adobe Encore 2 and it has provided me with a working DVD! Awesome! Thanks Adobe!

Can I ask some extra questions:

1.) Are dual layer disks a lot more unreliable on DVD set top players? ie. In terms of doing a job for a large number of people with many machines…am I better sticking with single layer?

2.) When trying to fit about 2 hours 40 on a DVD can I get away with encoding to Mpeg 2 to a a lower bitrate…ie. Mpeg 2 DVD Pal 4mbs..or is this going to be too dodgy on the quality?

Thanks for any help..really appreciate it!

Glad you got it working! As I said..I had a similar issue..and did the same thing…I think my problem was to do with some dropped frames that had crept into the footage…and the export avi then new project thing seems to ignore those and get the export back playing the game:)

    Hi,

Not sure if this will help…but have you tried exporting your project as a complete Microsoft DV AVI…then bringing this back into a new Premiere Project…then try the WM9 export again…

I had an issue today (with exporting mpeg2) and this fixed my problem…

..just one thing to try anyway..hope you can work it out.

Thanks for the feedback and tips.

I’ve got Premiere Pro and I believe the Project Trimmer wasn’t a feature of this (unlike the earlier versions and now 1.5) so will wait for Premiere Pro 2 which will hopefully be imminent.

Does anyone use external HD bays? I’m thinking this might be a nice easy way to slot HD’s in and out.

    Thanks,

    Matt

December 12, 2005 at 8:08 am in reply to: Changing the Line In Input

    Thanks Willie,

I actually managed to figure out the issue was within my sound card settings..I had to set it to receive input from the correct Line input. By the look of it Audition simply brings in just the entire input from the sound card.(or other source)..and lets the sound card settings be the thing that decides what comes in and out.

    Thanks for the tips.
