Ok..have just solved this…apologies…
In Illustrator one needs to double click on the side circle to properly select the layer.

September 16, 2009 at 11:40 am in reply to: Possible preview full screen on same monitor?Hi,
Thank you for your reply. My keyboard is set to US international.
Can anyone confirm that this is actually possible?
ie. can you view a sequence full screen on the same lcd?In searching around on google there seems to be very little reference to this possibility…maybe it just cannot be done?
Can anyone clear this up? Thank you.

Hi,
Can anyone confirm whether it is normal to see ‘interlacing’ effects within Premiere Pro on a PAl SD timeline?
if you look at the graphic below you will see it is showing both upper and lower fields simultaneously..resulting in the logo/text appearing with “double vision”.
If this is not normal does anyone know why it might be happening?
Thanks.

Thanks Jon,
So are you saying it is normal for me to see all these interlaced artifacts when working on a DV PAL project?
From memory whenever I have used DV PAL (which I assume always has upper and lower fields)…it seems to still have a progressive look on the PC LCD monitor…ie I never remember seeing all these horzizontal lines before.
Incidently if I do an export to a progressive file format everything is fine..but it is somewhat disconcerting to see all these lines whilst editing.
It is almost as if I have pressed a button that says “Show both fields”. I’ve tried all the right click “Always deinterlace”, “remove flicker” options.
I am somehwat confused!

Hi,
To further clarify the Interlacing issue I have here is a screen shot from what Premiere is doing:

this used to be all perfect….so I’m not sure what has happened to suddenly chew up my video like this.

January 6, 2008 at 11:14 am in reply to: Nested Comp – how to copy and modify easily?Tried this
1.) Duplicate the Text effect Comp with the single text effect layer inside. Rename all these comps with the new words needed.
2.) Place all these comps into another “combined” comp.
3.) Apply Adjustment layer to “combined” comp…unfortunately text will still not scale…
After Effects follows pretty closely behind brain surgery IMHO:)

January 6, 2008 at 10:55 am in reply to: Nested Comp – how to copy and modify easily?Well I’ve just learned about adjustment layers…
This method does indeed allow me to blur the text…
but Opacity and scaling still will not work on the “Raining Letters” effect within the same layer….pity because it would have provided a wonderful way to apply the scaling effects across all clips…
which leaves me back with my nested comp problems…
have been working for several hours on this now..would greatly value a clue!
