  • How to recolour existing layers?

    Hi,
I’m an experienced Corel Draw user but a novice with Illustrator.

I am working with a multi layered Illustrator document and am trying to simply recolour a layer.

In Corel Draw this is a simple process:
1.) Click on layer (object) in side panel
    2.) Press Colour Swatch…done.

In Illustrator I have tried the same intuitive process…
1.) Click on layer in side panel.
    2.) Change colour stroke.

    Unfortunately nothing happens.

Could someone explain to me how one changes the colour in Illustrator when it is selected in the side panel.

    Thanks.

    Ok..have just solved this…apologies…

In Illustrator one needs to double click on the side circle to properly select the layer.
