Hi Walter,
My project is still in 5.0.4, will Final Touch work OK with that?
What about the 10bit vs 8bit question. Is FCP’s 3-way in 10bit or does it drop it down to 8-bit?
Thanks,

Thanks Rich,
Appreciate your suggestions. I need to keep my frame rate at 25fps…
Best,

Well, I got it to work. Not sure why it wasnt before, but I’m sure I was doing something wrong !

Hi all,
Thanks for your all your suggestions. I need to digest this and will post back.
Wayne, you mentioned doing it in Live Type or Motion. I already have everything laid out in Illustrator exactally the way I want it (font, point size, columns, tab positions, spacing). Can I just export a PSD or TIFF file and bring it into Motion? Or should I be considering redoing the whole thing in one of those apps? I have both of them as part of FCPStudio, but havent touched either of them, and not sure that I should be dealing with the learning curve right now. I wonder if After Effects is the culprit in my chain?
thanks

Well, I answered at least one of my own questions:
Turns out I do need to start out with a 1024 width in Illustrator (I should know better, as this is how I would do a graphic in Photoshop as well…) Had to go up to 24points for the font size. Using Helvetica Neue, which gives a good result.
Still cant get my Illustrator .AI files direct into AE though, and the other questions still stand if anyone cares to help.
Thank you…

March 26, 2006 at 2:38 am in reply to: “No Video Input” on DeckLink HD Pro – Help !!!Hi again,
Well, I had to get some work done, so I went out and bought a new Decklink PRO card, which is working fine (at first test)
I’m rather disturbed about having to spend yet more money, but I had no choice. So, what else can I try before I declare the HD card “broken”?
If so, what is the repair policy? How quickly can I get it fixed/replaced?
Thanks,

March 26, 2006 at 1:39 am in reply to: “No Video Input” on DeckLink HD Pro – Help !!!Hi Kristian
(just tried calling Australia, but no answer…)UDIM was OFF…..
What else to try? Also, I’m confused about something in the Connection Diagram
When I look at the Diagram for the Decklink Pro HD (Dual Link) here:
https://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/connections/index.asp?prodID=8
It shows the Input for HD/SDI 4:2:2 being in the 3rd position away from the breakout cable. But if I click the link and download the connection diagram, on page 10, it shows the same card in Single Link mode
and indicates that the HD/SDI 4:2:2 INPUT should be on the 4th position away from the breakout cable.Which is correct? Can I damage anything by accidentally connecting to the wrong terminal?
(for that matter, can a card be damaged if the inputs and outputs are reversed? In my desperation last night, I tried EVERYTHING !)Waiting for your reply. Thank you……
