Somewhere in the darkest reaches of my mind is a memory that Martin Baker of Digital Heaven was going to develop something that did this. It might be worth contacting him via his website. It would be interesting to find out if you have any success. You might also be able to do something by editing the edl. If you could change all the reel numbers to be the same reel using find and replace (maybe using wildcards?) you might be able to cut up your re-imported clip.

I would try sending it to yourself or me (https://www.beermattonline.co.uk/contact.html) or somebody to check that it really is the process of sending it via that large black and white bamboo shoot eating mammal that is causing the problems and not something to do with your client’s set up.

Do you have the latest version of quicktime player on your pc and are you sure that your pc is man enough for the job?

Or you can make AVIs using the free mpeg streamclip and if you After Effects you can make WMVs that way.

Ah but did you have one with a combiner? Ours never worked, or never when I needed it too. If you look here https://www.broadcaststore.com/store/prod_search_results.cfm?category_search=499 they are trying to sell an A51 and have helpfully included the MSRP (40k) in the description. What a bargain!

There is a very laborious way to go from avid to after effects which I think would work with fcp too. Check out https://www.wesplate.com/helpful/avid_to_ae/index.html
