    Istockphoto.com, digitaljuice, probably revostock, etc.

    Generally if it’s real smoke shot on black bgrnd, you’d use the screen composite mode to remove the full black, and leave the smoke itself varying amounts of transparent.

    Andrew Kramer at Videocopilot has loads of good smoke in his action essentials … not that cheap though.
