    Todd,

Thank you for that link, it helps..

I didn’t have the ‘Preserve Paths’ option checked in my options (I never use AI)..

All paths now layered with smooth/sharp lines in AE!

    Thanks!!

Do you mean you have a still of an empty room, and you want to use that as the reference to ‘key’ out people walking in and out..?

Sounds like a difference keyer to me.. Does AE have one?

Otherwise, it’s good old rotoscoping (or Mocha, if you have it)..

February 12, 2010 at 5:58 pm in reply to: BCC 3D Text: no motion blur?

So 3D text generated by the BCC 3D Text plugin won’t motion blur when the AE camera moves?

    Wow, that is a huge setback… 🙁

I set up all my 3D text in different areas, then animate the AE camera from one to the other..

Maybe I can nest the whole comp and apply a motion blur filter to it..

Yes, that is basically what I have now.. But as I said, you have to hit ENTER on the remote to activate the button and play the movie.. I’m trying to cover my bases so if the DVD player doesn’t have a remote, they should be able to hit the PLAY button on the console and activate the movie.. How can I set PLAY to trigger the button just like ENTER..?

I tried it and it didn’t work.. If the XDCam footage was in MXF format I believe it would load (that is what format Vegas captures XDCam footage in)..

Finalcut captures XDCam straight into a MOV file, providing headaches for the rest of the world..

In the end I got it to work by using this intermediary codec:

    Expensive but worth it..

Just a regular ‘Undo’ after the command has completed, eh?

    Another feature request, I guess..

November 8, 2009 at 6:15 pm in reply to: DV-AVIs have black fields in DVD Architect

    JR,

I did use the standard ‘NTSC DV’ option for an AVI in Vegas..

I can’t render MPG2, because I have multiple angles (in the DVD Architect help, is says stick with AVI, or else it will recompress)..

I solved the problem by running the DV AVIs through MPEG Sreamclip and saving them as raw DVs.. Now they work fine..

No idea why the NTSC DV AVIs looked like that, I’ve never had that happen before.. Could that be a DV type 1/2 issue?

Looks like a DNxHD problem.. All the other codecs work fine..

Yup, that does it. That is what I was looking for!

Click ‘position’ to highlight all the position keys, then you can just drag the layer (or use arrow keys) in the viewport to move the layer where you want. All the keyframes offset to the new location..

    Perfect! Thanks!
