DV-AVIs have black fields in DVD Architect
I rendered out three 40 minute DV-AVI videos in Vegas for import into DVD Architect as a multi-angle DVD..
However, in DVD Architect, the videos all have the video only on one scanline.. all opposite scanlines are black.. See here:
The videos look fine when played back in Vegas, or in VLCPlayer..
How can I fix this??

Did you use the standard Vegas render templates for DV? (unmodified) I have never seen this problem using the standard templates. Try burning a DVD and see if it’s just a display problem within DVD Architect.
Alternately, forget AVI and render as MPEG2 directly to a DVD Architect template which will give you better quality because it’s one less render.

I did use the standard ‘NTSC DV’ option for an AVI in Vegas..
I can’t render MPG2, because I have multiple angles (in the DVD Architect help, is says stick with AVI, or else it will recompress)..
I solved the problem by running the DV AVIs through MPEG Sreamclip and saving them as raw DVs.. Now they work fine..
No idea why the NTSC DV AVIs looked like that, I’ve never had that happen before.. Could that be a DV type 1/2 issue?

I’m glad you found a solution. Vegas makes NTSC DV AVI files that are compliant with DVD Architect so I don’t see how this could happen but obviously something about the file wasn’t correct since MPEG Sreamclip fixed it.
You might want to contact Sony and log this issue. They may want to see the DV AVI file that Vegas produced to determine if there is a bug somewhere.
