    The reason why the window goes blank when you click on the clip is because Premiere is attempting to show your clip markers, which you don’t have.

  • If you are wanting to edit content from one sequence to another you can also open a sequence in the source monitor, select in and out points, patch and edit.

    Is this what you originally wanted?

    This is not the behaviour on my Mac with CC2015.1

    If I mark an in and an out I can press the spacebar and it continues from where the playhead is. It does not jump back to the in point and begin playing.

    In the bottom right of the viewer there is a WRENCH icon. Ceck that the LOOP playback isn’t ticked in the drop down menu.

    For what it’s worth… Premiere Pro CC 2015.1 here on a Mac.

    I have never noticed this behaviour but then I have always been pressing ENTER on the numeric keypad portion of the keyboard and not the RETURN key.

    Not the exact answer you want but you can toggle the target tracks off and on by assigning a keyboard shortcut in keyboard preferences. Search for Toggle tar get.

    Then aren’t we an agreement

    Thunderbolt 3 and DisplayPort 1.3 could support the data rates, etc required but the current 5k iMacs have neither of those.

    Maybe I have misunderstood and you are considering buying an iMac later when those connections will supported

    I’m hoping that when Thunderbolt 3/USB-C MacPro comes out that using the iMac 5K in target disc mode will be an option to save $2000+ on a 5k monitor. Was hoping the new MacPro would be here by now.

    When you mention saving $2000+ on a 5k monitor that suggests you are thinking of using the iMac in Target Display mode as a monitor. Am I correct? Target Disk mode is different as you may know.

    The 27″ 5k iMac does not support Target Display mode.

    November 1, 2015 at 7:11 pm in reply to: Importing new content to keep in Motion

    I have added content to the main Library folder using the finder method but it doesn’t do a live update in Motion. Motion needs to be restarted after which the items appear in Motion’s content folder.

    I do recall however losing this content once when performing a motion update and then another time I didn’t.

    I think it’s a lot safer to save in the User library folder.

    I may be misunderstanding you but I have nothing to loose to tell you what I do when I have some mov and image files that I reuse all the time.

    There are 2 ways;

    Using finder

    Create a folder in ~/Library/Application Support/ Motion/Library/Content

    So if the client is CREATIVE COW create a folder for example ~/Library/Application Support/ Motion/Library/Content/Creative Cow.

    Place the files in there and they immediately appear in motion in the Library Content folder.

    Using motion

    Import the files you want to use in to a new or existing project.

    Drag the files or copy and paste them from the motion media window to the Library Content folder.

    Hi Steven,

    I’m on a 27″ Retina iMac 2014 model. Yes, I know your hardware is different but for what it’s worth;

    I listen to PP CC2015 playback through the built in output. That is Premiere Pro, Audio Hardware, Default Output set to ‘Built-in Output’ on my system.

    I hear playback through the iMac speakers with the Mac system preferences sound output showing ‘Internal Speakers’. When I plug my headphones in (so I don’t disturb my partner) the system preferences sound output shows ‘Headphones’ and I now hear playback through my headphones.
