December 18, 2013 at 2:23 pm in reply to: Calibrating BT300 using LightSpace

My final target is a DCP master. My idea was to do a Rec709 videorange calibration on the BT300 and then tell the “lab” to take this into consideration when making the DCP. It did not seem possible to calibrate this screen for a DCI P3 setup. But have I misunderstood something ?

Also thanks for advice regarding pipeline – I will redo the calibration through Resolve.

Thanks for your reply – I used video levels.

This is the first time I did a calibration for this screen. I used the normal mode with digital cinema gamut.
I will try your suggestion with the cinema mode / native gamut next time I calibrate.

But the result doesn´t look bad. Just made a calibration test that I will screen at a cinema tomorrow ..

I did not find out how to adjust the patch size form Resolve so I used the output from the LightSpace laptop instead.

Ok, my solution was to export aaf files from Avid (with some speed adjust settings),
and then edit the change speed property in Resolve to something that can be
divided by my framerate (25 fps).

    Does this make sense ?

Thanks Juan, I had forgot about the free light version.

I remotely downloaded and installed light, and rendered and uploaded using Teamviewer on my phone!

    These are amazing times 🙂

    Thanks for answers.

    This occured because the cinematographer
shoot some scenes with dialogue in 50 fps,
he wanted a dreamy feeling ..

I did convert the soundfiles to the correct length
with Adobe Audition. It sounds horrible, but it
    is usable for the editing.

I guess we have to redo these scenes in studio
    when the film is edited.

I tried an early version at IBC last year. I use the the Wave now, but will definitely upgrade to Elements when it supports Resolve. It felt more solid, smoother and with more possibilities compared to the Wave.

I got an external monitor. The problem is that FCP wont display the same as Davinci.

Is Quadro4000/GTX470 the best combo for Resolve ? What about the FX4800 ?

This worked – but increases rendering time a lot.
    There is always something 😉

    Thanks!
