January 27, 2012 at 7:16 pmwithout Resolve support?
Davinci isn’t even on the list of “Work is also underway for many other applications to incorporate support.” programs -

January 27, 2012 at 7:39 pmThey look really nice and I like the price…. Hopefully we will see Resolve support soon. It did take a while for the Avid MC-Color to be supported by BMD did it eventually.

January 27, 2012 at 8:06 pmSurprised they are not there at roll out. O.o though i suspect they will be hard coding it. They want uniformity in the layout i would guess. Its good and bad. I wish they would give up on doing it all themselves and use the provided SDK but I can see the advantage of making it all the same so that you can get fast on the board and use your muscle memory because things are always in the same spot.
I don’t know.. My guess is April at NAB. but would love it if it were sooner.

January 29, 2012 at 12:35 amI tried an early version at IBC last year. I use the the Wave now, but will definitely upgrade to Elements when it supports Resolve. It felt more solid, smoother and with more possibilities compared to the Wave.

January 29, 2012 at 3:34 pm“After sending out the shipping notification on Friday we have received many enquiries asking whether Da Vinci Resolve will support the Element panels. Consequently we felt that it would be appropriate to explain the situation….
While we certainly hope that support for the Element panels will be incorporated into Resolve at some point we haven’t received any confirmation from Black Magic Design if or when this will happen. As soon as we have any more news on this we will post details on our website and send out another email to this list.

January 30, 2012 at 9:09 pmForgive me, but…
when I count the buttons and knobs, I see that “Element” can boast about maybe 9 more than Wave…
so I’m sort of failing to appreciate the excitement.Especially when both sides will assign the task of mapping the device to each other, and we will have the same situation as the wildly-more-solid 200-series panels.

You mean “Old Ben”? Ben Kenobi?

January 30, 2012 at 10:14 pmYes we need custom mapping! Otherwise it seems not that much better than the wave…
Prabably more solid build though!Lee

January 30, 2012 at 10:23 pmWell, the beauty of the big panels is that you always find what your fingers are looking for because it doesnt change layout.
On the other hand, a custom mapping you can carry with you makes your freelance life easy…I do that with Scratch and the Wave.
But First I would like to hear BMDs thoughts.
Is it in, or is it not ?A slice of color…
