but would that explain FCP freezing up upon launch.

Also, I recently did a 2 camera shoot, both cameras running side by side simultaneously. Both cameras were paused and started at the sametime. Both camera tapes have the same amount of TC breaks. Both tapes made a new clip the same amount of times. The only difference is that on tape, towards the end of the tape, the tape is missing footage at the end of the take. A minute or so in some cases. So, I think, the deck must be capturing the footage, always seeing the same breaks, but somehow disregarding some of the footage. This is only occuring when I use this deck. When I capture with my camera, I do not experience any of these problems.

No. I have my device going directly into the firewire port.

now my DVX100A camera, which was reliable previously isn’t working either. In my hub or port. I have a feeling this has to do with the fact I upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.8
I dont know what the solution is though. I reinstalled FCP 5.0 but that didnt help

OK. Even if I dont have Pro Tools, shouldnt the file Icon appear on the document instead of it being blank. I mean, if I dont have Pro Tools, how can I check the files integrity.
