November 13, 2006 at 8:05 pmThe closest thing is a 64 point garbage matte filter, but not a separate pen tool. Plugins can’t add tools. Motion is your best bet.

That is one glaring weakness in FCP and as others have noted, Motion is your best best for creating a custom Matte. You can send your shot directly to Motion for the matte, and then send it back to FCP.

November 13, 2006 at 11:39 pmJust throwing out the obvious: while Motion does do that, Shake is a much more robust toolset for that type of job. The caveat being that the learning curve is steep if you haven’t used a node based workflow before.
